Power

Our guitar pedals require a 9V DC, center negative, regulated power supply.  Do not voltage starve or use higher voltages except as noted below.  See the pedal documentation for specific current requirements. The plug should have 2.1mm inside diameter and 5.5mm outside diameter. This is the type of power supply used by almost all guitar pedals, and we recommend using one designed specifically for effects. A few examples are the Boss PSA series, MXR DC brick Voodoo Lab Pedal Power series, CIOKS, and Strymon power supplies. If you have a few pedals, we recommend a multi-pedal power supply with independent regulated outputs (not daisy chained).

Tensor

The Tensor requires 250 mA current.

Particle, Context, Bitmap, Raster

These pedals require 100 mA current.  They can run at 12V (max), but there is no advantage to running at higher voltages.

Bit Mixer, Bit Buffer

Our mixer and buffer can run at 12V or 18V for higher headroom.  You can also voltage starve them down to about 5V for nice distortion.

Notes on specific power supplies

Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus

The "L6" outputs (5 & 6) are the only ones that can supply 250 mA current for our newer pedals.  Set the DIP switch to the NORMAL (off) position.

MXR DC Brick

The MXR DC Brick can provide a maximum of 1200 mA total for all of the 9V

Visual Sound One Spot (daisy chain)

We do not recommend using daisy chain power supplies with our pedals.  If any pedal emits noise onto the power line, it can get picked up or amplified by other pedals on the chain.  However, some people use One Spot power supplies without any noise issues.

Warranty

Red Panda products are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for one (1) year from date of original purchase. It does not cover damages or wear resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, or unauthorized adjustment and/or repair. Should this product require service (or replacement at our option) while under warranty, please contact info@redpandalab.com.

Expression Pedals

Use an expression pedal with a 10k-25k ohm linear pot. The expression pedal input also supports control voltages (CV) with a range of 0 to +3.3V. It is best to use a 1/4” TRS cable with the ring unconnected, which is available from our web site.
